Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike has been arrested in connection to several kidnap cases in Lagos.
A 36 year old man who has been connected to the most high profile kidnap cases in Nigeria has been arrested by the Nigerian Police. Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike is allegedly the leader of a kidnap gang that has terrorised Lagos for many years now. The gang is said to have collected as much as N500 million and $1 million as ransom from victims.
According to reports, the gang has eluded law enforcement agents for many years now, until one of their victims miraculously escaped from their hideout and alerted the police. Having arrested members of the gang, it became difficult to arrest the leader of the gang who allegedly used sophisticated equipment to make it difficult for his whereabouts to be found. Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike is said to hail from Umudim, a village in Nnewi North Local Government of Anambra State.

According to Vanguard, the arrest operation became successful with the intervention of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Inspector General of Police led by one Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Philip.
