Former World Best Footballer, Fabio Cannavaro, now 41, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for breaching orders to keep out of his property after it was seized by authorities for owing over one million euros in unpaid Taxes.
Fabio Cannavaro played for Parma, Internazionale, Juventus and Real Madrid. He was also the captain of his national (Italy) team. During that time he led the team to their 2006 World Cup victory. In October last year, he was charged for tax evasion and authorities claimed he owed over €1M in unpaid taxes. Fabio Cannavaro‘s home was thereafter seized. His €180,000 yatch was also seized.
Fabio Cannavaro was arrested after he was caught going for a swim in the seized home with his wife, Daniela Aresono and his brother Paolo. Fabio was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment for failing to adhere to authorities ruling.
Although, Fabio Cannavaro, his wife, Daniella Aresono and his brother, Paolo have all appealed. The Judge has decided to suspend their sentences until a final judgement is made.
