Buhari has named Aisha Ahmad as the succeeding Deputy CBN Governor after the retirement of the former CBN governor
President Buhari presented Aisha Ahmad to the Senate for confirmation as Deputy Governor of CBN. She is to serve as a replacement for the just retired former deputy governor.
This was done in conformity to the provisions of the Act 2007 of the CBN. The president also write the Senate to seek confirmation of the appointment of members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the CBN. They will replace four old members, whose tenure expires this year.
The nominees are: Adeola Adenikinju; Aliyu Sanusi; Robert Asogwa and Asheikh Maidugu. After Senate clearance, the new members of the Monetary Policy Committee are to resume duties next January. Aisha is the Consumer Banking & Investment Head at Diamond Bank .
