The American Tv Series Veteran is sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison.
Bill Cosby has been convicted of sexual assault of Andrea Constand which occured in 2004, after a long trial period.
Steven O’Neil, a Montgomery County judge, ruled today that Cosby would serve “No less than 3 and no more than 10 years in state prison“. In addition to this, he would pay a levying fine of $25,000 and is required to pay court costs.
This pronouncement came after a two-day hearing at the Montgomery County Courthouse that witnessed testimony from the victim, Constand, Her family and psychologists.
Judge O’Neil heard final prosecution and defense remarks during the morning session of the trial before pronouncing sentence. He said ;
” This should be a state-prison sentence and this should be a sentence that happens today”
Before the sentence hearing, a pennsylvania state board suggested that Cosby be designated a “sexually violent predator“. This is a classification that mandates registration as a sex offender, community notification of his whereabouts and lifelong counselling.
