African leaders considering sending combined force against Boko Haram
Just as global leaders like the US Secretary of State, John Kerry and the British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond are considering a special initiative that will help to deal with Boko Haram, West African leaders are also seriously thinking about bringing together a strong combined force to fight the terrorist organization.
The Chairman of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), John Dramani Mahama of Ghana told a news conference that West Africa leaders will seek authority to create a multinational force to fight the insurgence.
“We cannot fight terrorism alone. We must find a way to act together, share information to synchronize strategies and pool our resources in order to rid the entire African continent of terrorism,” he said.
