5-Man-Gang Who Raped Woman In The Bush Arrested

Abia State Police Command yesterday has arrested a five man gang who are alleged to have gang raped a young woman in a bush.

Report made by the raped victim identified as Tochi from Isiala – Ngwa South LGA, led to the arrest of the gang: Ihechinmere Levi Jude Onyeocha Otumdi Onyeocha Chiemezuo John and Emmanuel Ekpo all of Umuala Village.

Parading the suspects along with others before newsmen at the state police headquarters on March 21st, the Commissioner of Police, CP ‘Leye Oyebade said his men also foiled a kidnap attempt and arrested the suspects.

Sequel to an information received on 02/03/2017 at about 1400hrs, from one Kingsley Okoronkwo ‘m’ of Ogbor-Hill in Aba, that some boys have concluded plots to kidnap him; detectives attached to Eziama Division swung into action and arrested the following suspects: Uzoma Basil 25yrs, Benjamin Emmanuel 22yrs, Ifeanyi Chika 25yrs, Kelechi Anozie 25yrs, Nelson Ikechukwu Otiuri 28yrs (arms supplier) and Chinonso Iheanyi 24yrs (native doctor). During the preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to the allegation while discreet investigation is also ongoing with a view to recovering their weapons.
